Letter To Stainless Steel: Unforgettable People

Letter to stainless steel: unforgettable people

Unforgettable people who remain in our memory, free from rust, as if they are made of stainless steel. Unforgettable people who make our hearts beat an extra beat and our stomachs tickle, and who make an eternal smile form on our lips.

They do not necessarily have to be in our lives for a very long time; they just have to have something special. Something that makes them stand out and that creates an exclusive feeling within us. This letter is dedicated to them:

You have spent your whole life with me, in mind and spirit. But if you asked why I could give you several reasons… or maybe none at all. I have to think about it once. So you can understand: you are a blue rose, surrounded by thousands of reds.

You’re someone with whom I can share an endless coffee break or conversation. Someone I would spend the night shift with on a silent surveillance job. You have a magic wand, and what you have produced within me is the closest magic I have ever felt. It is something that is indescribably similar.

I’m not talking about love or friendship. I’m talking about something you have, that I’ve seen. I have also touched, smelled and enjoyed it.

On the other hand, when I talk about ‘you’, I’m talking about a very small group of unforgettable people. I’m talking about only a handful of hearts that I said are worth it. They are worthwhile because they exude joy and make the world a better place. The world I share with them. Unforgettable people made of stainless steel.

I’ve seen you help others without writing anything down in your “debt” column. I have seen you give, even beyond the bounds of sacrifice. It was not just what you had left over, it was something you also needed and which you did not protect for fear that it would be taken away from you. Instead, you chose to share it.

I’ve seen you beam with joy in moments I expected you to be sad. Moments when I thought you would have crumbled, when I did not expect you to be made of steel. Circumstances where you put my empathy to the test, because I honestly did not understand how you could lift others up from collapse, which you never even considered for yourself.

I have heard you sing, I have lost myself in your paragraphs, I have read your written word. I have hugged your poetry and I have rested with the knowledge that you had the command. With you, I have learned that art has as many forms as it has creative issues and clouds of unrest.

Wooden men in the sun

Of all the ways I appreciated you, stainless steel, in all the souls you have lived in different ways, I have felt that you existed because the person you lived in had achieved full recognition of himself. Hence the fact that you could add, save or share something that is incredibly special with others or with the ethereal.

Yes, especially, that’s the right word. No different, because I’m sure even if you were not accompanied by all these red roses, I could still appreciate your blue color. Sky blue, deep sea blue, jump blue. Your shade fans, your light rays or your well-understood and misguided passion. I am also sure of the fact that others can also see everything I have described with you.
