People Are Made Of Courage And Hope

You are not just made of dreams and endless questions. And there will come a time when you realize this. Why you so often have to show courage and hope is because you have not yet experienced all the amazing things that await you.
People are made of courage and hope

According to scientific research, 99% of the human body consists of four chemical elements: carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. Researchers also believe that 73% of all atoms in the human body are derived from explosions of massive stars. But they tend to forget two important components. Namely, something we all learn from life: that we are all also made of courage and hope.

Man has the potential to be extraordinary. As Stephen Hawking put it: we are just the inhabitants of a small planet orbiting an average-sized star. Yet our species, more than anyone else we know, can understand the universe and has the ability to write very brave and sometimes ingenious stories. This is despite the fact that we sometimes forget and neglect our psychological strengths and lose the original luster that the stars have left in our DNA.

However, this is normal and even allowed because no one can be a hero every day. It is impossible to be strong in any case. Everyone has the right to fail, to shy away and take refuge in the abyss of their losses once and for all. For some experiences, we need a period of sleep.

After all, the best heroes are not the ones wearing shiny armor or red boots and coats. The real heroes are of flesh and blood, adorned with scars, sad stories and tanned skin after countless, enriching experiences. Humans are stubborn beings who find it difficult to stop nurturing their hope. Thus, we are unique.

People are made of courage and hope

Do not let this statement fade into oblivion because we humans are truly made of courage and hope. Pieces of courage, interspersed with corners of illusions and dreams.

You may often want to fight back when the world does not match your desires and expectations. You can also sometimes be persistent when it comes to your goals, other times you can be downright forgetful, especially when you neglect yourself in the middle of your tasks and responsibilities.

Howard Gardner, a psychologist and professor at Harvard University, believes that one of man’s greatest shortcomings is the difficulty of dealing with change. These are the moments when you may be underestimating yourself the most.

Humans are intelligent beings but find it difficult to give up certain circumstances. It is mainly the stability that attracts; the routines where certain activities, professions and people still fill your days.

You may forget that each life cycle is really just a constant process of transformation. There are losses and gains, as well as doors that close and windows that open.

Change arouses fear and you can tell yourself over and over again that you are not ready for this. But as Kakuzo Okakura, a 19th-century Japanese philosopher, pointed out, the art of living is nothing more than a constant readjustment in a changing environment.

Courage in the face of frightening change

Two years ago, the University of Alabama conducted an interesting study to better understand what courage was. The people in charge of this work, Mark Howell and Elaine Coshgell, analyzed a large group of people who had successfully faced complex situations and traumatic changes during large parts of their lives.

Thus, they could define that the personality associated with this type of courage has the following characteristics:

  • Brave people learn to be determined and proactive.
  • They have important goals and focus on them daily.
  • They do not get stuck when they encounter problems, instead they look for strategies to solve them.
  • Brave people are also passionate men and women.
  • They know how to ask for help and how to communicate their fear and anxiety to others for support. In addition, they are open and respect other perspectives.

In other words, courage is an internal quality. It is related to endurance and is, after all, a response from your brain to promote survival.

Courage and hope are a mechanism that you should activate during stormy days

It may inspire you to discover that courage is an internal mechanism found in every human being. People are only as good as their courage and hope leave them because they are advancing thanks to these approaches and driving forces. These psychological forces guarantee human survival, defeat obstacles, lift the chin, activate the mind and heart and provide the ability not to fear change.

It’s not easy but it’s true. And as we mentioned at the beginning of this article, you may not always have the energy needed to overcome your daily fears. But the human brain has fascinating abilities that guide it in this much-needed exercise to overcome life’s problems.

Intelligence and creativity help people solve problems in the most original ways. Endurance is an engine that leaves no room for abandonment.

Emotions are not easy to ignore. As Antonio Damasio points out, they try to benefit your homeostasis to help you act, survive, adapt and respond. A person is his courage, his hope and his dreams. Do not forget it! Mankind has matter from the stars that created our DNA and thus we are designed to shine during the darkest days.
