Your Heart Will Set You Free, Listen To It

Your heart will set you free, listen to it

How do you think people like Nelson Mandela or José Mujica could be imprisoned for years and still forgive afterwards? Because your heart will set you free, not the place where you are.

Mandela used to repeat a famous poem for himself: “Invictus” by the poet William Ernest Henley. The last part said, “I am the master of my own destiny. I am the captain of my soul ”. It is only within ourselves that we find the true strength and our true freedom.

Your heart will set you free

Sometimes you hear phrases like “this is a free country” or “that is a dictatorship where there is no freedom”. However, these are statements that do not really line up with the real meaning of freedom.

One person may feel very free under a totalitarian regime, while another person living under democracy may feel the chains of slavery on his shoulders like a tombstone weighing down every step he takes.

In our hearts, in our minds and in ourselves; nothing can steal our true freedom. What does it matter if you can not express it? You will always know that you are a being with your own mind and that no one will be able to take this away from you.

What happens if you do not listen to your heart?

When I say that your heart will set you free, it means that only by listening to your true feelings and your nature can you know what it is you need and want.

When we do not listen to our hearts, this creates an inner environment of slavery and discomfort.

  • Have you ever felt like you were in a relationship that was not going anywhere? You stood out because you thought this was how things should be. Or maybe the fear of loneliness tormented you so that you did not make the decision that you knew was right?
  • And what about your job? Do you feel you are in the right place? Do you feel that you are doing the job that you are good at and that allows you to develop your personal and professional potential? Or maybe you are in a company where you do not feel appreciated but you stay because you have no other solution. You are afraid that you will not find another job even though it would have been worth the chance.
  • What do you think of your friends? Do you feel appreciated by them? Do you think that the people you have around you deserve your company and your understanding? Maybe you stay by their side just because you’re afraid of being alone.

Listen to your heart

If you recognize yourself in any of these situations then I would like to give you some advice that will help you develop your full potential.

  • Your heart will set you free, do not forget this. Look into your heart and have a long conversation with yourself so you can discover what it is you really want. The first thing you should do is set goals.

  • Once you have set your goals and you know exactly what you want, it’s time to believe in yourself. There will be many obstacles in your path, and even people who want to prevent you from getting where you want to go. But one day you will say that it was difficult, but that you managed it.
  • Work in the right direction all the time. You should know that you will be walking on a complicated and lonely path that few people dare to follow. But if you do not stop and always move forward towards your real goals, nothing will be able to stop you.

Now remember this mantra: “Your heart will set you free”. Go towards your true personal and professional development and discover what your inner desires are so that you can give them the right answer, exactly what you deserve.
